چکیده

Abstract This article investigates the relationship between diffusion of digital technologies, employment, and skills. The empirical analysis is carried out on industry-level data six major European economies (Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, UK) over 2009–2014 period. We analyze two dimensions digitalization: industries’ consumption intermediate inputs from digitally intensive sectors investment in Information Communication Technology (ICT) tangible intangible assets, considering also patterns demand, education, technological change, offshoring. results show that job creation industries positively associated with an increasing share goods services total negatively linked processes ICT capital deepening. then explore how these different digitalization are related to evolution four occupational groups—managers, clerks, craft, Manual workers, defined basis International Standard Classification Occupations classes—finding a positive link managerial jobs, negative ones variables mid-skill occupations.
